Keanu famously hates paparazzi, but hardly ever showed it whenever I saw him. For example above he was sarcastically feigning enthusiasm for the small crowd of paps at the airport. At a place like LAX, he knows we will be there, and if this really bothered him, he could take extra steps to avoid it.

This time I got him exclusive getting dropped off at the talent agency that represents him. This was wild because I got the tip from my photo agency, who got it from bribing someone at the limo service. Celebrities get ratted out by all of the people closest to them. 

 

It was the only time that I went to that agency to catch a celebrity, and was actually shocked that I was able to sit right out in front of the building for about 15 minutes before Keanu got dropped off in front without security noticing me. I imagine paps would have the place staked out if it was that easy all the time. I think I got lucky. Keanu also seemed kind of amused that I had the balls to lie in wait right there, and gave me a great shot looking straight down the barrel.

Happy (belated) Birthday to Jason Schwartzman!

I was very appreciative that Jason gave me a thumbs up when I asked him if I could take a photo at LAX. He's a super nice and humble guy, and I am a big fan of his acting and musical work. I have nothing but respect for him so I would not have wanted to upset him if he didn't want to be photographed. I try to be respectful when possible.

Jason used to be a regular at the video store I worked at, and was probably the first or second celebrity customer I interacted with several times. The store allowed me to put my own toy video fan film DVDs on the shelf as free rentals, and Jason was a fan of Probot Toy Cinema. So he was my first mutual-fan. It was great to bump into him again a decade later.

Fifteen years ago today.
I still remember this day. She seemed indifferent to the cameras, but turned back and smiled at me on the escalator, so I must not have bothered her too badly.

FLASHBACK: David Lee Roth poses for me at LAX

Ten years ago today, May 18th, 2015, I ran into one of the absolute legends of my youth, "Diamond Dave" himself, David Lee Roth at LAX airport in Los Angeles! I couldn't believe he was not only fine with me taking photos, but he actually posed for me, gave me an interview, and even took a selfie with me, which I almost never asked for with most other celebs. 

The only downside was that I was so excited that I didn't realize my flash/camera settings were way off and the photos were mostly way over exposed. I tried to fix them as best I could, but damn... at least they came out better than the selfies, lol!
